COME TOGETHER
Upcoming Gatherings at The Lantern
Our programs bring people together through ritual, art, music, storytelling and shared experiences. Offerings encourage reflection, contemplation, expression and transformation. Additional information about Lantern events can also be found on our Zeffy Community Page.
Monthly Men’s Group
Once a month, men gather, sit together around a loose theme, follow the conversation where it leads, and occasionally break into smaller groups or pairs when the work calls for more intimacy. This is not therapy, and it is not a seminar.
Weekly Community Qigong
Qigong is an ancient practice rooted in Taoist wisdom and Chinese medicine that cultivates the circulation of life force through the body. The sessions run each Tuesday at 10am for 45 minutes, and can be practiced standing or seated. This is a practice for any body, at any stage of life.
Songwriter Soireè
A night of music, connection and belonging — A place for anyone to enjoy amazing music, expression, and a supportive community at our intimate open mic experience. Original songs only. All welcome to play or listen!
Alchemy Of Summer: A Fire Element Workshop
This two-hour workshop is part of a five-session series marking the turning of each season through the lens of Chinese medicine and Daoist philosophy. Each gathering weaves together teaching, qigong movement, journaling, and guided meditation.
Somatic Breathwork With Aaron Robinson
Somatic Breathwork is a powerful, embodied experience that awakens the body’s natural capacity to heal and transform. By using the breath as a catalyst, we engage directly with the nervous system and emotional body, allowing us to release stagnant energy stored from unresolved experiences.
Movement To Stillness
A simple, four-part practice to move from energy to ease. We’ll begin with gentle shaking to loosen tension, shift into movement that allows you to honor how you feel in the moment, then settle into a quiet meditation practice and an optional deeply restful lie-down.
Grief Read
Together, we gather once a month to read — memoir, poetry, theory, cultural studies, essays, or any text that explores grief and loss.
Open House & Community Care Gathering
Open and free to all community members, this daylong celebration will include live music, age-inclusive activities, refreshments, and opportunities for education, connection, and resource sharing.
You Are Not Alone with Chris Williams
You Are Not Alone is an evening of true personal stories, shared reflection, and community connection. This special night’s theme is “What Really Happens in the Dark?”

Improv Workshop with Chris Williams
This is a two-hour improv workshop for people who have experienced loss and understand what it means to grieve, whether that loss is recent, old, clear, complicated, private, or still unfolding.
Breathwork Metamorphosis: Exploring the Five Gates of Grief
Join Madrone Kalil of Taproot Journeys for a five-part Breathwork Metamorphosis immersive series inspired by Francis Weller's Five Gates of Grief.
Grief and the Art of Living
In this workshop we will use guided meditation, embodiment practices, writing prompts, and tea ceremony to create a gentle space for you to meet yourself.
Candlelight Gathering
You’re invited to light a candle and place it among dozens of others, watching the room glow with collective intention. Each flame is dedicated to what's on your heart—someone you've lost, something you're carrying, a hope you're holding, or simply your own weary soul.
Grief Jars
In this workshop we will create ceramic grief jars, or grief urns, and talk about ways to create self-care rituals around grief.
Soul Tarot for Companioning
Soul Tarot for Companioning is a two-part workshop that explores the cards through the lens of radical presence and companioning, one that can provide a sense of anchoring, as opposed to a fix or a resolution to our issues.
Memoir Writing Workshop
This is a generative memoir writing workshop. Your teacher Nick will talk about some ways of organizing our thoughts around memoir and offer some structural ideas, then we'll try two or three prompts to facilitate some fresh new writing we're excited about.
Honoring Animal Companions: Creating Memorial Altars
This workshop offers participants an opportunity to learn how to shift inward grieving toward external mourning by memorializing the loss of their animal companion through the creation of memorial altars.
Befriending Mortality (In person)
An person intensive hosted by Holly J. Pruett—Befriending Mortality can be seen as a spiritual quest, a psychological assignment, a philosophical riddle, or a culture-making undertaking. In this two-day workshop we approach the fact of our deaths as a subject for learning.
