The Lantern is an inclusive, intergenerational space for connection and grief support.
We're here to illuminate the complexity of this one messy, marvelous life.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Grief invites us to touch the limits of our understanding.
Our philosophy honors grief as a lifelong companion and a profound teacher, guiding us through transformation, meaning-making, and the ongoing cycles of life, death, and renewal. Much like creativity and grace, we believe grief is nonlinear. We are here to serve every person, unrepeatable and irreplaceable in this human family, alongside our ancestors who grieve with us today.
Our Space
In 2026, we restored a beautiful mid-century church into an inclusive home for The Lantern. Here, we can come together to share in life’s joys and sorrows.
The Sanctuary
The Sanctuary is filled with colored light from the original stained glass windows. It holds up to 300 people and offers a flexible space for ceremonies, concerts, movement classes, social gatherings, and celebrations.
The Living Room
The more intimate Living Room is designed for healing and connection to host grief circles, community workshops, and educational events. Equipped with a kitchen and dining area, the Living Room also welcomes private gatherings and retreats.
The Library
The Library holds books and resources that help us all deepen our understanding of ourselves, our grief, and our humanity. Open to the community for sitting, resting, reading. This space is also available as a private rental for a small group meeting.
The Lantern provides connection, grief support, and belonging.
